Coordinate keys, elevators and the truck's arrival

The truck can arrive only into a practical access plan, not a set of assumptions. 3 min read.

On this page

In a managed building, several people may control different parts of the move. One person has the keys, another handles a loading door and someone else receives the belongings. Put those roles into a short, shared plan. Share the remaining preparation and access questions with our movers in Verdun.

Identify what each property requires

Ask about the entrance that may be used, any elevator reservation and the permitted moving hours. Confirm whether there are steps or narrow areas on either side of the elevator. Do the same at pickup and delivery.

Record the actual arrangement rather than a hoped-for time. If management has not responded, say so in the quote discussion. The team can assess known constraints, but an unconfirmed building window should not be presented as settled.

  • Use the loading entrance specified by the property.
  • Mark unanswered access questions clearly.

Keep the key handover separate

Check when the receiving person will have usable keys and permission to enter. A scheduled possession time is not automatically the time when all moving arrangements are ready. Identify a backup contact if the main person may be occupied.

Keep phone numbers and the booking information accessible. Share only the access instructions needed for the move, and avoid posting private entry details on visible box labels. Agree how last-minute changes will be communicated.

  • Name the person providing entry.
  • Keep necessary contact information with you.

Prepare the carrying route

Before arrival, clear the agreed path and make destination room labels readable. Check the truck approach and current street notices separately from building permission. Neither a reserved elevator nor a moving booking creates a parking exemption.

If access changes, notify Déménagement Confort before the truck is due. A different door, extra flight of stairs or lost reservation can affect the work. Ask whether the plan or estimate needs updating rather than improvising a new route.

  • Check private paths and common areas.
  • Report access changes early.

The useful takeaway

A coordinated arrival has keys, a usable entrance, a confirmed window and a contact who knows the receiving plan.
